Reactivation of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD) headquarters in the Libyan capital, Tripoli.

The Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD) reactivated its headquarters in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, on Saturday, in the presence of the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dbeibah, along with several foreign ministers and representatives of member states.

In his remarks during the event, Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibah welcomed the return of the Community to its headquarters in Tripoli after years of inactivity, affirming Libya’s commitment to providing all necessary support to ensure the success of its work. He emphasized that this would strengthen its role in promoting regional cooperation and supporting stability and development efforts across the Sahel-Saharan region.
The Prime Minister also stressed that the reactivation of the headquarters in Tripoli represents an important step toward enhancing joint African action and revitalizing mechanisms of cooperation among member states, in a manner that serves shared interests and reinforces stability in the region.

The event was attended by ministers and representatives from The Gambia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Niger, Tunisia, Somalia, Sudan, the Central African Republic, Mali, Djibouti, Eritrea, Nigeria, Guinea-Bissau, and Ghana, reflecting strong political momentum in support of revitalizing the Community’s activities from its main headquarters.
