Mr. Al-Taher Al-Baour, Acting Minister in charge of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received this Friday afternoon at Mitiga International Airport Mr. Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tunisia.
The visit of the Tunisian Foreign Minister comes within the framework of his participation in the ceremony marking the reopening of the headquarters of the Executive Secretariat of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD), scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, in the Libyan capital, Tripoli.
The reception ceremony was attended by Mr. Al-Shaibani Abdullah Al-Shaibani, Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs at the Community of Sahel-Saharan States, Mr. Najib Al-Rayani, Director of the Arab Affairs Department, and Mr. Abdelnasser Younes, Director of the African Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, along with the Ambassador of the State of Libya to Tunisia, Mr. Mustafa Qadara.
Tunisia’s high-level ministerial participation in this event reflects its support for the return of Libyan diplomacy to its leading role in its regional environment, in light of the stability and development currently witnessed in Libya under the Government of National Unity.
It is worth noting that the reopening of the Executive Secretariat headquarters follows comprehensive modernization and development works, transforming it into an advanced logistical and administrative hub that meets the aspirations of member states and contributes to strengthening economic and security integration in the Sahel-Saharan region, in line with the highest international standards.
