Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs Arrives in Tripoli to Attend the inauguration of the CEN-SAD Headquarters

Mr. Al-Taher, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received today, Friday, April 10, 2026, at Mitiga International Airport, the Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mohieldin Ibrahim , upon his arrival in the Libyan capital, Tripoli.

The visit of the Sudanese Foreign Minister comes amid the arrival of foreign ministers from the member states of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD), who are participating in the ceremony marking the reopening of the organization’s headquarters, scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2026, in Tripoli.

The reception ceremony was attended by Mr. Najib Al-Rayani, Director of the Arab Affairs Department, and Mr. Abdelnasser Younes, Director of the African Affairs Department.

Sudan’s high-level participation in this event reflects its official support for the return of Libyan diplomacy to its leading role at both regional and continental levels, in light of the stability and development currently witnessed in Libya under the Government of National Unity.

It is worth noting that the reopening of the Executive Secretariat headquarters follows comprehensive modernization and development works, transforming it into an advanced logistical and administrative hub that meets the aspirations of member states and contributes to strengthening economic and security integration in the Sahel-Saharan region, in line with the highest international standards.
